Best moments:

Stunning scenery - camaraderie of the group - my 50 th Birthday on day 8 - The Crask Inn; a pub in the middle of nowhere on route to Bettyhill, (an oasis in a monsoon) - Crossing the finish line at John O’ Groats & the enormous sense of achievement in cycling over 1000 miles.

Worst moments :

Cycling through the urban areas of Glasgow - Cold wet feet - Day 14, Evanton to Bettyhill 74 miles in pouring rain and wind.

Miscellaneous….

There were over 30,000 feet of climbs on the 1056 mile route ( Mount Everest is 29,000 feet)

I broke the speed limit doing 24.7 in a 20 mph limit, a first for me…(on a bike !!)

June 2007 was officially the wettest June since 1914 in the UK.
